Privacy Policy

Overview
Trina's Kids Foundation (“Trina's Kids,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through this website, how we use and share it, and the choices you have. By using the Site, you agree to this Policy and to our Terms of Use.
Information we collect
We collect information you provide directly — such as your name, email address, mailing address, and message content — when you donate, sign up to volunteer, subscribe to our newsletter, or submit an inquiry form. When you donate, our third-party fundraising platform, Givebutter, collects your payment details directly; we receive a confirmation and limited transaction information, not your full card number. We also collect limited technical information (such as pages visited, approximate location, and device type) through privacy-conscious analytics to understand how the Site is used.
How we use information
We use the information you provide to respond to your inquiry, process donations, send receipts and confirmations, administer volunteer and event participation, and — where you have opted in — send email updates about our programs. We also use information to operate, secure, and improve the Site, to comply with legal and tax obligations, and to prevent fraud and abuse. We do not sell or rent donor or supporter information.
How we share information
We share information only with service providers who help us operate — such as payment processors, email and analytics providers, and hosting services — and only to the extent they need it to perform services for us. We may also disclose information when required by law, to enforce our Terms of Use, to protect the rights, safety, or property of our supporters or organization, or in connection with a merger or reorganization of the organization. We do not authorize service providers to use your information for their own marketing.
Donation processing
Donations are processed through Givebutter, an independent, PCI-DSS-compliant third-party fundraising platform, and its payment partners. Payment card details are handled by Givebutter and are never stored on Trina's Kids’ own servers. Your donation is also subject to Givebutter’s privacy policy. Where the Site indicates donations are being accepted in test mode, no live charge is made.
Cookies and analytics
We use essential cookies to operate the Site and limited analytics to understand aggregate usage. We do not send donor, beneficiary, or free-text form content to analytics platforms. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling some cookies may affect how the Site functions.
Children's privacy
Trina's Kids serves children through in-person community programs, but this website is directed at adults — donors, volunteers, partners, and funders. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 through the Site, and if we learn we have, we will delete it. Photography and stories involving minors are published only with documented guardian consent, and we do not publish full names, addresses, schools, or other identifying details about minors.
Email and SMS communications
You can unsubscribe from marketing email at any time using the link in any email or by contacting us. If you opt in to text messages, message and data rates may apply, and you can opt out at any time by replying STOP; we will still send transactional messages, such as donation receipts, that you request or that are required to complete a transaction.
Your choices and rights
You may request to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, and California residents have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, including the right to know what we collect and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. Because we do not sell personal information, there is nothing to opt out of in that respect. To make a request, contact us at karla@trinaskids.org. We will verify your request before acting on it and respond as required by law.
Data retention and security
We retain personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described here or as required by law, including tax and recordkeeping obligations for donations. We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security; you provide information at your own risk.
Third-party links
The Site may link to third-party services. We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of those services, and this Policy applies only to the Site. Please review the privacy policies of any third-party service you use.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Your continued use of the Site after changes are posted means you accept the updated Policy.
