About Trina's Kids Foundation

Named after one mother. Built for every child.

Trina's Kids Foundation is a Los Angeles nonprofit founded on a simple idea: that generosity, organized well, can reach an entire community — and still feel personal to every child it touches.

Our Origin

A name that makes it personal.

In 2014, Vince Ricci founded Trina’s Kids Foundation in Los Angeles and named it after his mother, Trina. The name was a deliberate choice — a way of keeping the organization’s work rooted in family, memory, and care, rather than in abstraction.

What began as community service focused on Los Angeles’ urban youth has grown into a year-round organization spanning three flagship seasons — the Back-to-School Drive, Thanksgiving, and the Holiday Toy Drive — alongside ongoing community programs, gift-giving initiatives, and recognition programs like Report Card Rewards.

Twice, that community effort has broken records: Trina’s Kids is a two-time Guinness World Records title holder for toy donations. But the organization’s work is measured first by whether a child felt remembered — not by the number attached to a headline.

Mission

What we do.

Born from a desire to ensure no child feels forgotten, Trina’s Kids Foundation exists to serve children impacted by parental substance abuse, poverty, and difficult life circumstances. Through faith, compassion, and community, we provide positive experiences, educational opportunities, and critical resources that remind every child they are loved, valued, and capable of creating a brighter future.

Vision

Where we're going.

A Los Angeles where every child experiences consistent support through the moments that matter most — the first day of school, a shared holiday table, a gift with their name on it — regardless of circumstance.

A Note on the Name

Trina’s Kids carries a founder’s mother’s name into every program it runs — a daily reminder that scale should never come at the cost of care.

Our Values

How we work.

Dignity first

Every program is designed so families receive support with respect, choice, and agency — never pity.

Scale in service of people

Record-breaking numbers exist to move more real support to more real kids, not the other way around.

Community, not charity alone

Trina's Kids works alongside schools, local organizations, and neighborhoods — not around them.

Follow-through

A promised drive happens. A collected toy gets delivered. Execution is the whole point.
